St. Patrick's Eve in Savannah

My Photo of the
Forsyth Fountain
(yes, they dye the water green)

Darryl and I spent 4 days and 3 nights in Savannah this past week, getting together with Lee and David Killian, brother John, Effie Mydell, and even a lunch with dear old Dad at Hilliard's.
The city was in full preparation for St. Patrick's Day and weekend. The fountains all ran green.

We stayed once again at the ever accommodating Savannah Bed and Breakfast Inn on Gordon Street, this time in two suites over our three nights, first the lane Cottage, then the spacious Live Oak Suite. We walked to the river three times, had shrimp dinner at Coco's Sunset Grille, dinner at the Crystal Beer Parlor, Thai dinner at a new place on Broughton St., fried chicken at Johnny Harris, etc. One gorgeous day we walked on the beach at Tybee and watched a dazzling sunset amidst hundreds of sea birds.
On our last night in town, I had a Jameson at Pinkie Master's bar for old times' sake; then John and I took in the crowds downtown and along Congress St.
